We have too and we determined never to let that happen to you at Bear Creek. That is why we partner with Becky Bernardes-DeGracia, the Waco Mama Bear. In fact, we are the only student housing community to provide Becky to you to be your resident ambassador.

Becky is your advocate if there is ever a situation that cannot be resolved between a student or parent and management. Our goal is to provide the kind of college lifestyle Baylor students dream of, where their top priority always remains thriving academically and spiritually.

As we renovated the property in 2025, Becky provided invaluable advice to us from her years of experience helping students make the most of their college experience and helping parents feel confident students are well cared for when far away from home.

We designed outdoor spaces that encourage community and interaction. We outfitted private bedrooms to make them comfortable and allow students to sleep and study in peace and quiet.

We give students space to securely store their belongings onsite over the summer to reduce move-in/move-out drama.

We provide one shared garage in each house free of charge throughout the school year for students to store their bikes or other recreational equipment, set up weight machines or ping-pong tables, or do laundry.

After purchasing the property, we added all the outdoor amenities you see in the pictures, installed new roofs, painted and added low maintenance landscaping.

We then priced our single rooms at $700 but cut that price nearly in half for any student who wanted to share a room for only $400 each monthly. Staying true to our values, we created an environment where students could feel connected and secure, thrive spiritually, academically and socially. And do it affordably.

Finally, we did something no other student housing community does in Waco. We hired Becky Bernardes-DeGracia to be your advocate. Becky is the Waco Mama Bear. She has more than 5000 Baylor parent and student followers and a cadre of local moms that stand alongside students and parents all year long.
