WHO WE ARE
It is important to know who owns the property where you or your student lives and what the owner’s values are. Therefore, we’d like to introduce ourselves. We are Chris and Deb Martin. Our son Alex (Class of ’28) attends Baylor University.
We are Christians, actively involved at Radiant Church in Tampa, Florida. We are small group leaders and volunteers at Radiant. Alex attends Highlands Baptist in Waco. We strive to place God, Family and Purpose above all else in our lives. When we renovated Bear Creek at Baylor with the assistance of Becky Bernardes-DeGracia, the Waco Mama Bear we focused on those same values in every decision we made.
We’ve been through the experience of sending a child to college far from home and know firsthand how emotionally difficult that can be for students and their parents.
Alex has two older brothers, one who graduated from Grand Canyon University (’19) and the other from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (’18). Alex is a resident at Brooks Flats but in the Fall he will live at Bear Creek at Baylor in Bear Den 3.
Before purchasing Bear Creek, we looked around Waco extensively and found many student housing complexes that were dirty, run down and frankly not places where we would want our son to live. We also discovered some very nice, modern complexes but found they charged premium rents that many students simply could not afford.
At Bear Creek at Baylor, we set out to create a unique Waco property – a premium student living environment that is affordable for any student.

ABOUT BEAR CREEK AT BAYLOR
Bear Creek at Baylor was built two decades ago and designed from the ground up to be student housing. Most recently the homes were offered as an AirBNB, so the property looks and feels very upscale, modern and comfortable.
The mission of Bear Creek at Baylor is to provide residents with extraordinary spaces for extraordinary living. Our community is a short walk to the edge of campus and is complete with what student’s need for a successful college experience.
